Art, for me, has never been a straight road. It’s been an off-road adventure dusty, raw, and beautifully unpredictable. What started as a playful experiment with dot art while helping my daughter with her school project has slowly evolved into something far deeper and more meaningful. Today, it stands proudly as Kannada Typography, a space where my journey as a creator, a mother, a seeker, and a lover of language finds its true voice. The terrain of creativity is wild and unknown filled with bumps of self-doubt, steep learning curves, and the occasional fog of creative block. But like every off-road trip, this one too offered panoramic views I never imagined. Through each stumble and surprise, I found a rhythm, a language of expression that was deeply personal and rooted in something much older than me: the Kannada script.
As I placed tiny, imperfect dots one after another, I started to notice something shift in me. These weren’t just dots they were moments of mindfulness. Each dot brought me closer to silence, each line a step away from the noise of routine life. Slowly, I began blending these calming patterns with the curves and strokes of Kannada letters, and what emerged was magical. I realized how naturally beautiful our script is its flow, its curves, its ability to express emotions in the subtlest ways. I began to see Kannada not just as a language but as an art form.

Kannada Typography was born out of this very realization that language and art are not separate paths but two wheels on the same journey. When I started sharing my work, I was overwhelmed by how many others felt the same connection. People saw their names, their childhood phrases, and their favorite proverbs turned into art and they felt seen. That’s when I knew I had found not just a hobby or a side project, but a purpose.
This journey also led me to interact with artists, writers, and creators across Karnataka and beyond. Through workshops, I began introducing others especially working professionals to the healing power of creating art in their mother tongue. Watching someone hold a paintbrush for the first time and write their name in Kannada with pride and joy is a feeling I can’t describe. We’re not just reviving a forgotten script we’re making it live, breathe, and shine in a new light.
Even today, I don’t have a final destination in mind. Like any off-road traveler, I’m more interested in the journey the quiet trails, the unexpected turns, the soulful pit stops. Kannada Typography is my ongoing exploration, my digital scrapbook of creativity, language, and culture. I may be covered in paint and far from perfect, but I’m exactly where I want to be happily lost in a world of dots, colors, and Kannada letters.
